Hi.

I was hoping you could help me fingure out how to track time on a subproject as a whole instead of entering the time on the individual tasks under that project when using a project imported from Microsoft Project.

It seems that this can be accomplished if the project is added using Timeless Time and Expense, but if the project is imported from a Microsoft project file this function is gone.

Please see these screen shots as reference.

On this one, notice I am able to track time on the subproject. This project was added in the Timeless Time and Expense program.

On this one, I do not get the option to track time on the subproject. I can only track time on an item that has nothing under it in the tree structure. This was imported into Timeless Time and Expense from MS Project.

This is by design.  When a project is imported from MS Project we consider it the source and all project changes should be made in MS Project.  We also must conform to the tracking rules of MS Project which means only items at the bottom can have time logged.

You can break the link by deleting the project under the Tools | Projects menu item, but by doing this you will no longer be able to sychronize the MS Project plan.
